  • (-) I tried this recipe for a USB external drive under Windows but could not display the wiki in a browser. A simple alternative that does run fine is based on DokuWiki on a Stick. Change a few lines in the Apache start file to point to pmwiki directory rather than dokuwiki and Apache serves up the PmWiki! --Hugh May 2013.
  • I've used the Standalone server on my personal wiki a few years back -- worked fine. (It's been several years that I haven't used Windows.) --Petko
  • (+) It works fantastically for my personal wikis, though I do wish that there was an easy way to allow other devices to connect to the server. I want to edit my wiki on my phone but not have it public to anyone else on the internet. - PTW 2021
