I just loaded PmWiki and tried a few Skins - I followed all of the simple instructions but nothing changes on my site. what am I missing? Thank you!

There seems to be an error in the tmpl file though. If you want to enable different sidebars in different groups,
<!--wiki:$SiteGroup.SideBar $Group.SideBar-->
should be replaced by
<!--wiki:$Group.SideBar $SiteGroup.SideBar-->
