CreatingNewPages-Talk

When I try and create a new page by typing the name directly in the url bar I get the following message:

ERROR 404 - PAGE NOT FOUND
Why am I seeing this page?
How to find the correct spelling and folder
404 Errors After Clicking WordPress Links
How to modify your .htaccess file

Could someone please tell me what could be wrong? — Pierre.

It looks like either a typo or a server misconfiguration, as in the server does not expect the URL you typed to be managed by PmWiki. --Petko December 31, 2021, at 03:57 PM

It's a new install. My other PmWiki does not have that problem. Could it be a .htaccess file problem? It somehow has no .htacces file in the top folder...
Yes, it can be a .htaccess file problem, if you have installed something like Cookbook:CleanUrls. You can probably copy a .htaccess from another wiki and place it in the new one. If you can access it via http://yoursite/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Main.HomePage and it works then indeed it may be a .htaccess file problem.

AHA! This here seems to be the error, like you said server misconfiguration, specifically after update to PHP 7.4 — "PHP Warning: Version warning: Imagick was compiled against Image Magick version 1650 but version 1654 is loaded. Imagick will run but may behave surprisingly in Unknown on line 0". So I'll contact my provider. There are ways around it from their end that one can point them to, without reconfiguring, I see with a Google search.
