I run a wiki at HollenbackNet. It's based on phpwiki because I started it before pmwiki existed. I find that the current pmwiki is better deisgned and easier to use that phpwiki.

However, I do use pmwiki for an intranet at my work, and I helped a friend set one up at shusher.
