March 12, 2007. After stalling waiting for a perfect solution, I finally decided to implement a separate "marker" solution rather than icons. The difference is that markers are limited to A-Z, whereas with icons I was planning to have a wide-open range of possiblites. I'm tired of making promises with little production.
